SHELLSHOCK NAM '67 I was wondering when the sensitivity of the Vietnam War would ease up and spawn games using its time, place and violent results as entertainment (goodness knows it has had a run of decades in the movie industry). The intro features real documentary footage and you get classic tunes from the era to further wedge you into the period - Small Faces, Country Joe, Bobby Bland, Quix, Spectres, Sonny Bono and John Lee Hooker are some of them. Your missions take you through most of the conflict situations (in first or third person view) and sometimes may seem a bit too realistic. This Vietnam action game throws in pretty much everything you'll find in a movie set during this war, from the intense battles to the language used. A nice addition for warfare fans, but I'd like to hear the opinion of some veterans who experienced its mayhem firsthand. 4 / B - PB 1 2 3 4 5 6 A - B - C |
