TWISTED METAL: BLACK
In the vein of
Carmageddon and other heavy weapon demolition racing games, Twisted Metal: Black adds an extra dark edge. It starts with the collection of mean vehicles and freaky characters attached to them. Judgement Day is a tow truck, Sweet Tooth a freaky clown with an ice cream van, Shadow (a girl in a hearse), the Darkside truck, Spectre (muscle car), an old hotrod in the shape of Crazy 8, the 2 door Mustang looking Roadkill, Mr Grimm and his side-car bike, Outlaw's cop car and Brimstone's pick-up (bakkie). All vehicles are souped up and mean. There are still 4 more to be unlocked. The opening portion and credits uses the Rolling Stones' fantastic Paint It Black tune, with some added Nine Inch Nails moods in other tracks. One or multi-player options can be selected. For the single player you can enter the Story mode, once you've unlocked it! Pick a car and arena in the Challenge mode and try your luck to wipe your competitors from the screen - it's hectic, explosive and crazy, as a vast range of weaponry can be picked up and aimed at the other punks - who do exactly the same, so be careful! Endurance will pit your skills against an endless stream of opponents as you see how far you can get with your single vehicle. Multi-players can range between 2 and 4. A Deathmatch will set you against one another to the finish. You can go for the 2 player co-operative option or fight as a team. The 2 player Last Man Standing is of course a fight to the bitter end. This heavy-duty auto mayhem may be a cure to the road rage moments you might experience on a daily basis - so lay into them, there will be no court cases or caskets rolled out here! The game is now also available for on-line multi-player madness.
