THE SCORPION KING - Motion Picture Soundtrack
As so many soundtracks today, producers go for that heavy angle, not only
because it sounds good, but also the impact it adds to the screen (whether
the songs actually appear in the movie or not). With this, the first leading
role for WWF
muscleman The
Rock (expanding
his bit part debut role from The
Mummy Returns),
the bands include a crunching bunch. Phenomenal
act System Of A Down
deliver a new track, while bands like P.O.D.,
Godsmack,
Nickelback,
Drowning
Pool
and Creed
flesh it out further. The usual new hard rock suspects, as you can see.
But Rob
Zombie storm
in with Ozzy,
no less, while Coalchamber,
Breaking
Point,
Lifer,
Sevendust,
Flaw
and Injected
also add their weight. And it's hardly a weight to be misjudged. 16 crunching
tunes are not half bad, especially since most of us will never be able
to afford each of these bands' latest releases. The enhanced CD portion
delivers a great Scorpion
King
offering of music, screensavers, a movie trailer and other cool stuff
like photo galleries.
