LOUNGE OF HORROR AUTHOR MINI BIOGRAPHIES:

Nerine Dorman has been writing tales of dark fantasy since she first discovered her flair for words during detention when she was twelve. Her first novel, Khepera Rising, will be released by Lyrical Press, Inc. during December and has just signed a contract for its sequel, The Dead of Night.
Nerine put together the Lounge Of Horror for the South African HORRORFEST.

Diane Awerbuck's first novel, Gardening at Night, struck it lucky. She now teaches, reviews fiction, writes non-fiction, and blogs on Mail & Guardian Thoughtleader. Awerbuck is at work on a co-operative novel (with Henrietta Rose-Innes, Mary Watson and Lauren Beukes) titled Exquisite Corpse.
Horror is her thing.

Sally A. Partridge is the author of the The Goblet Club, which won the I am a Writer competition in 2007 and the MER Youth Prize in 2008.
Her second novel, Fuse, was published in 2009. Her horror short story, The Expedition, will appear in the Home and Away anthology in 2010.

By day Danielle Eriksen ekes out a living as a graphic designer and by night she crafts the suffering and general nonsense of life into dark and somewhat depressing tales.
Her short story for this event, Mary Mary, is scheduled for publication in 2010 by Innsmouth Free Press, a Lovecraftian zine.

Carine Engelbrecht sold her first short story to Huisgenoot magazine aged nineteen, but now writes mostly genre fiction (SF, Fantasy, Horror). She was a guitarist for the all-girl metal band Misery and appeared as an extra on episodes of The adventures of Sinbad.

HJ Lombard works at Parliament, creates short stories (which he occasionally writes down), is a compulsive photographer and a constant traveller...as a result he thinks the distinction between 'reality' and 'fiction' is entirely arbitrary and artificial.
Not very nice things tend to happen in his stories.

Henrietta Rose-Innes has written two novels, Shark's Egg and The Rock Alphabet, and her short stories have appeared in various international publications. She has won the Caine Prize for African Writing (2008) and the Southern African PEN Literary Award (2007).
She is based in Cape Town.

Sarah Lotz is the author of the novels Pompidou Posse (Penguin, 2008), Exhibit A (Penguin, 2009) and the forthcoming Tooth and Nailed (Penguin, 2010). She won the Something Wicked launch issue horror competition and the 2007 SAFM fiction contest, and is currently working on a horror project of stomach-churning creepiness with author Louis Greenberg.

Sam Wilson is a writer for Clockwork Zoo Animation studios and a contributor to Something Wicked magazine.
He’s also the creator of “I’ll Scream Your Tweets” (http://illscreamyourtweets.com) and @gentrestories on Twitter.

Werner Pretorius – Born in Pretoria in 1979, he holds degrees in Publishing and English from the University of Pretoria and an MA with distinction in Creative Writing from the University of Cape Town. He has been a regular contributor to A Look Away and Something Wicked magazines.
He is a part-time scriptwriter, full-time bookseller and knows the way to San José.
