ASYLUM

With Natasha Richardson, Ian McKellen, Marton Csokas, Hugh Bonneville

Directed by David MacKenzie

A provocative tale about a new doctor at an Asylum with the focus on his wife’s escalating and obsessive relationship with one of the patients. The man is there for the murder of his wife. Their sexual relationship knows no bounds and leads to the man’s escape and her meeting up with him on the outside. His soft demeanor however soon shows its true colors as his deadly obsession which led to the death of his wife materializes. Tragedy is inevitable. While the performances are good, it becomes a frustrating endeavor, as this woman keeps on making one bad choice after the other.
