FROZEN

With Shawn Ashmore, Emma Bell, Kevin Zegers

Written & Directed by Adam Green

This single-location thriller reminds a lot of Open Water.

Three post-teens slip onto a ski-lift for one last downhill ride. With them not accounted for, the lift is stopped and locked down for the weekend. The couple and their friend are stuck in the freezing weather, with no cellphone communication and no way to get down. Too high up to jump, the cold increases and they have to hatch plans to survive and / or escape.

With this limited setting, the movie-makers succeed in not boring the audience to death with a situation that no-one would ever want to find themselves in, milking terror in several ways.
