10, 000 BC

With Steven Strait, Camilla Belle, Cliff Curtis, Joel Virgel, Affif Ben Badra, Mo Zinal, Nathanael Baring, Mona Hammond, Reece Ritchie, Joe Vaz, and the voice of Omar Sharif

Written by Harald Kloser & Roland Emmerich
Directed Roland Emmerich

Roland Emmerich is very comfortable in the epic mode, here discarding alien invasion and rampaging monsters in favour of a pre-historic time. A brave group of hunters from a tribe reaching the end of an era departs on a vast quest to save tribe members taken captive by a mysterious, more advanced race. One of those captured is the love of our lead hero. Along their trek they encounter diverse perils and build up an army as they head for the advanced lost civilization where their people are held captive.
Brimming over with spectacle and special FX, part of the film was shot in South Africa and Namibia (so look out for some local extras).
DVD Extras: Additional scenes and an alternate ending; featurettes on the production and origin of the story, design & FX.
