BUBBU HO-TEP

With Bruce Campbell, Ossie Davis, Ella Joyce, Heidi Marnhout, Bob Ivy
Directed by Don Coscarelli

Just when everyone thought Don Coscarelli could only make
Phantasm movies, up jumps this absolutely incredible little movie. Based on a short story by Joe R. Lansdale, the location is an old age home with one of the old guys claiming to be Elvis (Campbell), and an elderly black man believing he’s JFK (Davis). When an ancient mummy arrives to prey on the frail, their claims don’t seem as far fetched! Together it’s up to them to get rid of the moldy bastard. The film hinges squarely on Bruce Campbell’s brilliant performance, and he pulls it off marvelously. A truly unique movie with some hilarious moments.
