Raven

THE RAVEN

With John Cusack, Alice Eve, Luke Evans, Brendan Gleeson, Kevin McNally

Written by Ben Livingston, Hannah Shakespeare

Directed by James McTeigue

Also going the route of incorporating real historic figures into fictitious events, like Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, here macabre poet / writer Edgar Allan Poe is the focus. It is the mid 1800s in Baltimore, and a serial killer has the city in fear, dragging Poe into the situation by emulating scenes from his literary works of fiction, making it all too real. Together with detective Fields, they try to close in on the madman behind the killings.

With a dark, Gothic and Jack The Ripper tone, this mystery becomes real horror for Poe when the love of his life disappears, and the chase is on to save her life – but at a very dear cost.
