This 5th installment of Paul Anderson's live action take on the popular video game picks up on the deck of the Arcadia, where Afterlife left off.

Besides the stalwart character of Alice (the focal character of each Resident Evil movie - still played by Jovovich and looking as great as ever), other known and favourite characters from the previous movies and the games return, including Leon Kennedy, Jill Valentine, Ada Wong, Luther West, Rain, Wesker and Carlos.

After a fierce battle on the ship Arcadia, Alice is imprisoned in an Umbrella facility. With the T Virus spreading to engulf the entire globe and annihilate the human race, Wesker has turned and is working to save her, sending in a rescue team. The destructive Red Queen computer is back and dumps Alice and her compatriots into a survival race through various global city simulations (giving it very much a video game feel). With some large scale action, zombies, monsters and post-Matrix fighting moments to race you on, this is another exhilarating chapter in what has become a respected franchise for gamers and cine-fans alike. And of course the door for another chapter is blatantly kept open, so do expect more.

Extra features include a commentary track, a look at the movie's creatures and outtakes.
