SADISTEROTICA

With Janine Reynaud, Rosanna Yanny, Adrian Hoven, Ana Casares
Directed by Jess Franco

The strange world of Spanish director Jesus Franco knows no bounds. With his wide ranging and bulky repertoire of horror, slasher and wicked Nazi warden flicks (re: Ilsa), he’s churned out a wealth of movies, sometimes around a dozen a year – but they’re not all masterpieces.
Sadisterotica is one of those somewhat touch & go blends of sexy thriller and horror as a duo of female investigators try to catch an eye patch wearing artists who has beautiful women captured by his hairy henchman, so he can paint them while they’re being killed.
The kitch late-60s style adds to the appeal while some moments can drag out a bit without artistic merit.
